Any issues with special characters in FileNames?

Hi Dean,

Will NeatUpload handle special characters in FileNames ?  example:

Part1»_Part2_§–Part3µ.doc

It should.  If you have problems, please specify whether you are using MultiFile with useFlashIfAvailable="true", what browser you are using, and the locale of the client and server.

using MultiFile with useFlashIfAvailable="true", = No

what browser you are using = IE7,

and the locale of the client and server = US.

 

The filename gets converted to Part1?_Part2_?–Part3?.doc

Where are you seeing the filename displayed incorrectly?  If you use Visual Studio to examine the FileName property does it look correct?

Code behind:

alert in javascript for the filename displays it correctly - as entered..

however debug in code behind :NeatUploadControl.FileName shows as :  Part1�_Part2_�–Part3�.doc

I just created a new textbox in the aspx page where I typed in the filename directly and the codebehind still messes the value of the textbox up.

So looks like it is some problem with the encoding or something.- not a Neatupload issue
